Many complain that the 12 ProMax was awful at taking macro photos, as you cannot focus on closer objects. Even the 12 Pro was doing much better. Now that the iPhone 13 ProMax was released, Apple was bragging about its new Macro Mode. But, do you think it will be available in the 12 Pro Max?
As far as I know, their Wide angle lenses are very similar:
iPhone 12 Pro Max (Wide): f2.4, 13mm focal distance,
iPhone 13 Pro Max (Wide): f1.8, 13mm focal distance
The higher f-stop in the 12 ProMax should also increase the Depth of Field for closer subjects (even better for macro).
From what I see, the hardware should perfectly support as good a macro as the iPhone 13 ProMax, right? Is this just a software thing missing, or am I missing something?
