I have an iPad 5th generation, running iPadOS 14.4
Photo album
I took the first picture in the album on 2-2-21, and it was fine. The next day, I took the next 3 pictures and I'm getting these wide yellow stripes. I see it on the screen even before I take the picture. They show up when I view the photos on my iMac as well. Both cameras show them, front and rear.
(Lighting: CFL 6500K)
The last photo is in natural light. At first I thought it wasn’t showing the lines because it wasn’t stark white, but now I wonder if it was because it was natural light.
I did a hard reset but it didn't help. HDR is shut off.
The iPad did have a small fall earlier this week, but it was fine on the 2nd of February.
I posted this also on r/iPad, r/applehelp, and r/techsupport
I took a picture in natural light and there were no lines. The second photo is our refrigerator under fluorescents. Photo album 2
I tested two other iPads (another 5th generation and an older mini), they also had lines. I also tried 6500K fluorescent tube shop lights, they too had lines. I just don’t understand why everything was fine one day and not the next.
I posted on Apple Support Community but got no response.
Last night I did a live chat with Apple support. I talked with two people online and two people on the phone. They did some diagnostics things. We tried a factory reset together, still there were lines. They were able to look at my screen through some Analytics thing and they saw the lines. They said the lines shouldn’t be there. Of course, they advised me to take it to an Apple store, but I don’t think it’s broken, since we’ve got three iPads acting the same way. Is this something that happens as the cameras age?
Can somebody please help?
